Wednesday, October 13th
Departure from Frankfurt Airport with LH at 2.10 pm.
Optional with KLM via Amsterdam or AIR FRANCE (also daily non-stop flights to Osaka = KIX (Kansai International Airport), arrival time within 30 minutes of the LH arrival)
Thursday, October 14th, arrival 8.10 am (local time)
transfer to Kyoto
Because our hotel rooms are not available until afternoon, a Kaiseki-lunch in a garden restaurant called ‚Higashi-Villa’ is already organised to recover from the long flight.
During the afternoon return to Kyoto and short visit to the Sanjusangendo temple, which is on our way back.
Friday, October 15th
Ginkakuji, then visit of the Hakusasono garden laid out by the artist Hashimoto Kansetsu housing a small Museum with a Kaiseki-Tempura luncheon served in this former atelier followed by a visit of Tetsugaku-no-michi (so-called philosopher’s walk).

Saturday and Sunday, October 16th and 17th
Exhibit of Netsuke (Brockhaus) and some of of their own collections of Netsuke and Kagamibuta at the Sannenzaka-Kiyomizu-Museum, besides this lectures and demonstrations. For those, who are not so much interested in Netsuke, Kiyomizu temple, Gion district, Maruyama park with pagoda etc. are within walking distance.
Tuesday, October 19th
A daily tour to Shigaraki to visit the Miho-Museum known because of its famous Chinese architect Pei; visit to a local ceramic museum or a potter’s place.

For the two remaining days (Monday an Wednesday, 18th and 20th) further options:
Katsura-Villa, visit of Arashiyama, boat trip, luncheon at a Tofu-restaurant (outdoors), then visit of a Kimono studio, where the outlines of the design are painted by hand in so-called Yusen technique.
Shimogamo shrine, Heian shrine and Shoren-in with its famous camphor trees.
Shugakuin, the second imperial residence with its vegetable garden, the famous meditation garden Ryoanji, more temples are Ninnaji, Kinkakuji, the very worth seeing Kyoto National Museum. House of the potter Kawai, Kanjiro.
Thursday, October 21st , (day of departure to Tokyo)
For early birds there is the opportunity to visit the antique market, which takes place once a month near the Toji temple; in the afternoon we are going to take the Nozomi-train to Tokyo.
In view of the opening ceremony with H.I.H. Princess Takamado and H.E. the German ambassador Dr. Volker Stanzel on
Friday, October 22nd at 1 pm I would like to advise you to depart from Kyoto Thursday afternoon because the travel takes 2,5 hours to Tokyo by bullet-train.
Friday afternoon, October 22nd, Saturday and Sunday, October23rd and 24th
Netsuke-events at the OAG in Tokyo, lectures, demonstrations and workshops; on Sunday also dealer’s exhibits and a Japanese auction are planned.
Monday/Tuesday, October 25th and 26th
Whole-day excursions to Nikko and/or Hakone/Atami.
Visit of various museums (except Monday) in Tokyo, a guided tour by an architect , or a visit of the Kannon temple in Asakusa and strolling around this area with its many little booths and dinner at a traditional Tempura restaurant (Daikoku-ya).
Wednesday, October 27th
Departure from Narita Airport with LH 711 to Frankfurt (departure time: 9.35) and arrival in Frankfurt at 14.12 pm.)
